Microscope signed Blasio Burlini in Venezia made circa 1750

Travelling microscope signed « Blasio Burlini in Venezia » presented in wooden case closing with a simple securing clasp.

The outer tube in ivory is covered with black shagreen. The inner tube is a green vellum draw with gold-tooling bearing the signature. The pillar set screws on the lid of the case. It is equipped with two arms, one to maintain the tube, the other one to fix the stage plate. The concave mirror is attached to it with a pin.

The inside of the case on two rows, both decorated with red paper, is partitioned to accept the various parts of the instrument, once dismantled.

Dimensions of the case : 6,2 cm high – 12,6 cm x 9,6 cm.
