Armillary sphere in brass signed Chapotot Paris made circa 1690
Antique armillary sphere, Copernic type, figuring the solar system in real movement.
In brass signed " CHAPOTOT A PARIS" engraved inside the important zodiacal ring indicating the signs and months.
The armillaries are engraved as follows :
"pole de l’Ecliptique POLE ARCTIQUE CIEL FIXE COLURE DES SOLSTICES PÔLE ANTARCTIQUE ETOILES FIXES - COLURE DES SOLSTICES".

- « VENUS en 224 j 16 h. 40 m », « ORBE DE VENUS » et portant une petite boule
- « MERCURE en 87 j. 03 h 15 m », « ORBE DE MERCURE » et portant une boule.
Dimensions : 54 cm total high (sphere 28 cm / foot 26 cm) and diameter of 29 cm (sphere) and 21,2 cm (feet).
Made by Jean Chapotot (1690 / 1721) or his father Louis Chapotot (1670 to 1700) at "A la Sphère - Quai de l’horloge - Ile de la Cité - Paris".
