Celestial globe signed “Par le Sr Robert de Vaugondy” .
This globe is certainly made by Gilles Robert de Vaugondy (1688-1766). In fact his son Didier Robert de Vaugondy (1723-1786) used to sign his globes with a label .
On its turned blackened wood stand.
In superb condition.
