Royal presentation gift in gold and tortoise representing Louis Dauphin circa 1752

Antique snuff box in gold and tortoise presenting two medallions with the paintings on ivory of the portraits of Louis Dauphin (son of Louis XV King of France) and his wife Marie Josèphe de Saxe, both parents of three successive kings of France: Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X.

These boxes were called "presentation gifts" and were offered by the royal family to the people they want to honor.

In perfect condition.

Made for the king’s house circa 1752.

Dimensions: 8,6 x 6,3 cm - hauteur 4,1 cm.
