Hourglass made in pitch pine in Germany circa 1630/1650

Hourglass made of a pitch pine frame with two circular bases held together by four square pillars.

The flask made of two clear blue « bubbled » elongated bulbs in glass joined by a wax covered with linen twine. Black lead sand inside.

Dimensions : 12,2 cm high x 4,6 cm diameter

Reference : a very close example, dated sixteenth century at the National Maritime Museum Greenwich (inv. AST0074).
